12. No expense has been spared with an Ohlins NIX fork and TTX shock. Up front, we’ll find a fully-adjustable 43mm Ohlins NIX fork featuring 4.9 inches of travel—that’s 0.2-inches over the previous generation and meant to deal with greater braking forces. In the rear, a fully-adjustable TTX shock boasting 4.7 inches of travel is at play. Feel from the fork is superb, keeping the chassis in shape when braking hard into turn 1, coming down from 180 mph. The shock was getting quite the work out at Mugello, with the undulating track and wheelie bumps asking everything of it. Still, the 1100 never wallowed or became squirrely for a man of my modest talents.

As part of the change-up to RED AXS, Quarq is pushing out a new power meter as well. Though rather than be a completely new design, this is considered part of the DZero family, and thus all existing DZero power meters will receive the same pile of software features updates. In other words – at the end of the day whether your DZero power meter is 18 months old or bought as part of a new AXS groupset, it’ll have the exact same set of features.

One of the interesting ramifications of this new groupset is the change to the XD (off-road) and XDR (on-road) driver body, which is the piece the cassette attaches to. With that change you’ll likely find that your existing direct drive trainer won’t be compatible with your new bike/groupset.  If you have a wheel-on trainer, then there’s no impact. Remember a direct drive trainer is one where you remove your wheel, like a Wahoo KICKR.

The brakes feature an integrated 2.5mm cinch bolt for clamping the cable. This is a nice feature aesthetically, and while it likely saves a bit of weight, it did have a knack for chewing up the cable when really tightened down. This can be problematic when re-bolting the cable after initial cable stretch. I can imagine the fraying that would occur if a barrel adjuster were not installed and the clamp needed to be undone for wheel removal. Inflating the tire after installation would eliminate this problem, however it would not be ideal in a pit scenario during a race.

Actually, 12:58, the original notation of South Sound incoming flow causing the backup was accurate because it has the right of way. Far more than West bound traffic, which would not cause East bound traffic to stop nearly as much as that which is coming from SS. The bigger problem is the number of cars that cut across to SS at the Kings Sports roundabout in order to get 2-3 car lengths ahead by getting the right of way from SS approach at the Hurley’s roundabout. There is NO backup after the Hurley’s roundabout – so if you reduce/eliminate the SS cut in, the flow would even out a lot.

This is where the rubber hits the road. We tested both the SawStop and Bosch Reaxx table saws to see how well their flesh detection technology worked. We do NOT recommend anyone else try these methods. After all, you’re essentially trusting in electronics to protect you—never a good idea when you can avoid it entirely. We also took precautions to minimize the potential injury due to a failure of the saw to stop the blade at all.

As hinted above, the 2.8L diesel needs to be better. The aftermarket is always an option, but it’s nice to have the assurance of a non-voided warranty. The base 2.5L I4 LCV is mediocre, while 3.6L V6 never seemed to make sense in this truck, either. The Small Block-based 4.3L V6 LV3 with 305 hp and 348 pound-feet of torque would have given us everything we were looking for. Perhaps Chevrolet will figure a way to either offer the the 4.3L V6 or the new 2.7L turbo four – which makes essentially the same specs as the pushrod six – for the Colorado in the coming model years.

On the other hand, a feature I think all chainsaws could benefit from is a coast-down brake like those we rely on with circular saws and miter saws. These useful brakes are found on the DeWalt Flexvolt and Greenworks Digi Pro saws.

The saws had one other simple qualifier for this test. They had to have an active chain brake—not just a plastic guard in front. A few saws were bumped out of consideration for lack of this essential safety feature.
